How do you like your bananas?

It's so ridiculously common for people to state that one of their MAJOR resolutions each year is to eat healthy, go to the gym etc... You agree right? Myself included!

I was shopping in Fairway with my sis on 1/1/13 for healthy eats of course when I almost dropped my apples when this tush in action caught our eyes... I'm not kidding!

I was so hysterical that I couldn't even take this pic...  so courtesy of my favorite sister and partner in crime (who took my pic request very seriously)...  See what REALLY determined peeps will do to eat healthy!

This man takes his bananas VERY seriously... don't you think?

Hope I made you laugh since I still am!

Welcoming simple pleasures in 2013...

Sometimes we forget to take a few moments out of our crazy busy lives to enjoy the most meaningful simple joys in life.  Many of us are so focused on building our empires and getting from point A to B that we may miss some of the most spontaneous fun that is right before our eyes.  My partner in crime, my fabulous sister and I brought in the New Year together enjoying a chill (literally CHILLY- what's a Spunky Schmoozer adventure without a long spontaneous brisk walk?) night of many laughs, great food and meeting old friends...

As we stood on a corner on 72nd and Central Park West at midnight this morning... I couldn't help but smile for 20 minutes straight while I noticed taxi drivers, members of the media, UWS residents and more just STOP what they were doing to appreciate the magical fireworks in Central Park...

Wishing everyone a very HAPPY and HEALTHY New Year where all of your dreams come true! Let's try to enjoy spontaneous adventures that become some of the most invaluable lessons and memories.  I'm going to try my hardest to take my own advice throughout 2013... to enjoy dynamic facets of journeys instead of being such a darn perfectionist attempting to quickly reach specific destinations.  I'll also attempt to focus more on SIMPLE joys that I truly enjoy... like being a business matchmaker to connect amazing people who normally wouldn't meet and chilling with my laptop or an old school journal and mechanical pencils more often (for those of you who really know me... you get how I truly LOVE my pencils)... to simply write...

As we embark on a brand new 365 day adventure, I look forward to forming new powerful personal and professional relationships, making more of a positive difference to our world and creating many fun memories with friends and members of my family who I could simply never live without! If you happen to know my future husband... please feel free to send him my way as well.  It doesn't hurt to ask right???

Here's to a year of super smiles and schmoozing...

Spunky Schmoozer

How far would you schlep for something very sweet?

Guess what I woke up thinking about this morning? Something very clean I promise! I'm not speaking about an extra special guy now (I said something NOT someone) and NO this pic was not taken last Halloween...

I must admit that The Wizard of Oz is by far one on my favorite movies, but I was not thinking about this character when I was walking to work this morning half asleep. Of course I had to stop and take a pic (this is me you know) and...is Times Square EVER boring? No...NOT really! Only in NYC...would these photo opps just suddenly appear...I love it!!! Ok ok...I was not dreaming of waiting on a long line either this afternoon. In fact, I rarely wait on long lines and will always try to talk myself into special Spunky Schmoozer treatment (in a sweet way of course with a huge smile) but...being part of this future line experience was a must! I know the suspense is building and you can hardly sit still in your seat right now...so I'll share with you what this fakakta fuss was all about...

Sprinkles had it's official opening today and how could the one and only Spunky Schmoozer not be in the house? We learn from every life experience and guess what I really learned from an LA work trip several years ago? After picking up Sprinkles cupcakes to drop off at clients...I was instantly in NOSH love at first sight after tasting their pumpkin and peanut butter chocolate cupcakes. Fine...I'll admit it...they're all so darn good! Kelly...my waistline totally thanks you for the intro too! ;) I'll never forget how my friend Mia went so out of her way to pick up my fave cupcakes in Beverly Hills last time I was in town. G-d forbid I got on JetBlue without savoring those treats right before take off. Yes...Sprinkles was a significant part of my 2009 All You Can Jet (#AYCJ) from JetBlue life changing trip and I'm proud of that!!! No... Sprinkles and JetBlue don't sponsor me for anything...but they really should...since I'm THAT big of a fan of their brands!

Today was an extra busy day in my recruiting world but one of my closest friends (love ya Melissa) refused to not share today's Sprinkles opening day experience with me and made sure we both went! Real close friends don't let you miss out on moments like this! Wow... have our special times changed together from decorating our Phi Sigma Sigma pledge book covers...to appreciating NYC cupcakes Melissa...haven't they?

We met for a late "lunch" to catch up on the long Sprinkles line to pay $3.50 per cupcake...

2 schmucks...

completely smiling the whole time! We only looked at our watches 50
times each... wondering if we would make it back to work on time! We weren't leaving 60th and Lex without our sweet goods!

The welcome to Sprinkles gal was all smiles and focused too (can't you see?) ...tough job that day! She was very sweet actually...

How long would you wait on line for a cupcake?

Are you in a noshy mood yet? I'm totally wanting another cupcake now...YOU TOO I know! Be honest! At least there's a gym in my apartment building!

Food Network fans...the judge of “Cupcake Wars” and founder of
Sprinkles Cupcakes, Candace Nelson was fun to schmooze with...
even after I asked her why they didn't have my fave peanut butter chocolate cupcakes today!

Here's a shot of their kitchen...my kind of kitchen!!!

Melissa and I had to grab our snacks and run (literally) to the subway to get back to our offices. Who has time to lounge on large cupcakes and snack during a work day like that??? I bet they went to Bloomingdales after... who am I to judge! ;)

I dare you to go to Sprinkles for the first time and only buy one cupcake...

Grab some milk with your cupcakes and make it skim so you feel a little better...trust me! Follow me on Twitter @spunkyschmoozer where I share some of my extra random entertaining adventures. Oh and let me know what your fave Sprinkles flavor is! I'll give you a week to tell me!!!

Who loves a contest? I do!!! My first amused reader to correctly guess which four Sprinkles flavors are represented above (and post to this blog entry) will win a sassy Flavor of The Month tee from www.royaldrama.com!
@royaldrama

Good luck, happy noshing, and remember... sometimes the true little things in life can bring you the most pleasure!

How do you like them pics?

It's amazing how much fun one can simply have by going on spontaneous walks. Sometimes unplanned destinations lead to the most random great times... and you actually forget you're exercising too. Whether it's people watching... window shopping... simply thinking about your next plan of action... grabbing a nosh or two along the way (my fave)... or just totally enjoying the weather... there's something for everyone to smile about.

I'm always up for an adventure as many of you know... and NYC walks never disappoint me for some reason. They usually bring me tons of random laughter! Sometimes I even pick up new or old friends along the way. Sometimes both!!!

Here's some free NYC spotted entertainment for your viewing pleasure... brought to you by the one and only Spunky Schmoozer from some recent strolls...

This man got lost on his way back to the zoo...

What some creative people will do for company...

Lions and Tigers and Bears... OH MY! Meet ya at the circus? This pic makes me crave cotton candy... yes it does!

Still wondering about this one to be honest (not like I'm ever not blunt or anything)...

See how much fun you can have while burning calories? Someone was having way too much of a good time that he left his poor sneakers behind. Don't they look so lonely... ready to make a call maybe?

I know I'm completely addicted to my BlackBerry (at least I can admit it)... but my BlackBerry camera actually does come in handy for moments that simply MUST be captured through images. Don't you think?

Follow me on Twitter @SpunkySchmoozer for guaranteed laughter (well at least I hope so)! Share some of your favorite NYC pics or at least the hysterical ones. Keep them clean please! ;)

What would you do if you won MEGA MILLIONS?

Who's dreaming of winning MEGA MILLIONS right now??? Be honest... I SURE AM!!!

Moments before the numbers were going to be chosen tonight for a potential 355 million...

I bought a ticket and then pondered over a Pinkberry nosh!

I forgot how chilly (never too cold for frozen yogurt of course) it was outside while I was thinking about what I would do if I actually won. I simply sat on Broadway all relaxed... enjoying my pumpkin cone... all smiles!

What would you do if... YOU WON? Hmmm if not... we always have next time right? There's something very special about always dreaming...

Follow me on Twitter @SpunkySchmoozer and let me know what you would do if you suddenly won 355 million! ;)

Black Swan...Moo Shu Chicken...Snowball fight anyone?

After participating in an annual Spunky Schmoozer Jewish family Christmas tradition last night... Chinese food and a movie... I decided I needed a few hours of less intense time alone today. Ok... Bloody Black Swan (almost covered my eyes a few times) exemplified acting at its finest! I'll be shocked if the Oscar doesn't go to Natalie Portman... as she truly deserves to be recognized for her impressive acting ability. WOW is this an intense movie though. No one warned me HOW INTENSE!!!

My favorite part was as the credits were rolling my Dad joked as he always does and said "I thought we were going to enjoy a nice comedy!" My family was hysterical as well as audience members who heard my Dad's comment. His joke delivery was perfect (that doesn't always happen)! I'm glad I saw the flick... even though romantic comedies are more my speed. I convinced my family that we shouldn't see Little Fockers as I was unimpressed opening day. It wasn't so funny... I must admit! At least it didn't give me a knot in my stomach though.

I still feel like I need Prilosec after last night (probably more from watching Black Swan than from my Moo Shu Chicken, spare ribs and shrimp with lobster sauce dinner). I did share those dishes... can't eat THAT much! My stomach still needs to recover but dinner was much more enjoyable than Black Swan. I will not be buying that movie... that's for sure.. and I own about 300 DVDs!

I woke up this morning very excited... anticipating all of the snow that we've been promised... rushed back to NYC so I wouldn't be stuck in Westchester during today's blizzard. I love snow when I don't have to drive in it! I had very important business to attend to this afternoon on the UWS...

Chick flicks... drinking hot chocolate (minus the whipped cream)... organizing about 10,000 business cards... just simply relaxing while appreciating the beautiful snowfall from inside my cozy NYC apartment!

Maybe I'll venture out in a few minutes to buy some whipped cream for a second cup of hot chocolate! Maybe a snowball fight? I can't sit still for too long... you know!

Are you following me yet on Twitter @SpunkySchmoozer? Tell me where to follow you too. What... you have more important things to do? ;)

Mega Millions Nosh anyone???

You know those times when you totally force yourself to go to the gym... when you're just not in the mood? You might have eaten way too many brownies the night before or simply plan to wear an extra fitted dress in a few days.. so you just make yourself exercise... no matter what!

Tonight...I was just dreaming of a no nonsense dessert (cupcakes, pecan pie, etc...) the GOOD stuff! I decided I would eat an apple instead of rich sweets and then head to the gym... since I've been eating way too much junk during the holiday season. OMG... if you guys knew what my Moms' linzer tarts and rugelach really taste like...you would understand why I can't just eat 2 of her cookies and then be happy eating a salad! I must admit... I really love salads too... but if you had the choice... what would you pick?

Well thanks to Access Hollywood and my Facebook and Twitter family for getting me through my hour of cardio this evening. I sent out this photo with 18 minutes left of my workout requesting some fun company and wow did my social media friends truly come to my rescue. I appreciated the encouragement as well as my peeps who told me I was insane for staying on one piece of equipment for an hour. Yeah... you're right! Sometimes you just need to spice things up at the gym a bit...and I really didn't tonight!

Before I reached 43 minutes I realized how lucky I was to have a gym all to myself that night. I felt extra important to be honest... then I suddenly felt like I was missing out on a party. Was I the ONLY one working out on the Upper West this evening???

Ok so I really felt slightly guilty of the thought of eating a decadent dessert later because I ate Pinkberry for lunch today. How brilliant is their packaging when you take their treats to go? Ice included... to decrease the possibility of major melting? Then if you sprain your ankle on the way home
(G-d forbid) you
have an ice pack ready...

Thanks to my sweet friend at Pinkberry (I won't say your name to get you in trouble) my small yogurt was upgraded to a medium on the house and YES I felt like I won the lotto!!! You're fabulous and you know who you are!!! That's a perfect Spunky Schmoozer type of gift! FYI...add a little cinnamon to the Pumpkin Pinkberry flavor and the combo is really worth the calories... then add some fresh fruit... and it's even better! Those salted and sweet pumpkin seeds in this picture are amazing too!

I rarely buy Lotto tickets but I decided while I was all wound up at the gym that I had to be a potential Mega Millions winner tonight for some reason. Sure... my odds would be higher to become the first Jewish Female President of the USA... but the simple thought of winning is just truly exciting!

EXTRA spontaneous nosh is like winning the Lotto until you need to get your tush to the gym... don't you think?

If I win Mega Millions... I can hire an almost 24/7 cute trainer to move in with me! ;)

Follow me on Twitter @SpunkySchmoozer and tell me what your fave nosh is and if you've ever won the Lotto! Scratch off Lotto tickets count too of course!
